Well - I have yet to see anyone ask for rank for a PvE group. Not saying it doesnt happen but I don't see it as a wave takng GW by storm. Anyway if someone uses that for a group - I'm thinking you dont want to be in that group anyway.

Is it fair that people don't wnat mesmers in groups? or want a certain level? The rank would be the same type of thing.

Don't you think this sort of idea is the least bit silly? I mean really you couldn't have chosen a less important issue to make a suggestion about it.

Let me be honest about my opinions on the subject.

PvE has FOW armor and perfect Items, PvP has guild rank, and rank emotes.

Having said that I find this suggestion to just be a poorly hidden to attempt to support the permanent division of pve from pvp. This is something I will never condone. In fact It is a terrible message to send to those of us who like both aspects and love that factions is encouraging combining the two.

If they don't give us a PvE Emote in PvE, why would a PvP Emote work in PvE? I like the idea of gaining Fame with completing a quest, mission or the game.

You have a PvE emote that's visible in PvP. It's called FoW armor.

i have a very good suggestion.make an option for us to turn of emote,(so that we wont see them if we set them to off).

this would not solve all the problem,but it solves the problem where we can get annoyed just looking at the emote flashed,seriously i think know how hard it is to get the emote(not that i have any rank).but there will always be some 12 years old flashing their HARD earned emote just to annoys people.

/sign just to annoy the ALL MIGHTY PVP people (which is 95% jerks 3%ignorant 1.9% have real life friendsthat plays GW and 0.1% other categories)

And you think they're relevant inside of HA? 80% of everyone who is rank 9 got most of their fame from spirit spamming, probably 50% got it by iwaying, and about 5% bought it. Rank means absolutely nothing today. It's just for looks.

Showing your rank emote more than once in the same place just means your an eliteist punk who thinks he's so uber but nobody cares.

I am really glad you got a good laugh...

While you are there chuckling with glee, let me respond to your post. Hopefully you can stop laughing long enough to read it...but I don't know 'cause this thread is 'unbelievably hilarious'.

FoW armor can be bought if you want. It is not given to you automatically for completing a PVE mission or having a certain amount of experience. It is a choice to buy it or not. Rank emotes are given after gaing rank regardless if you want them or not. So there is a bit of a difference here.

I do not want to seperate PVP from PVE. I do both and enjoy both. I even on occassion use my PVE build in PVP. I play in RA almost daily and I really enjoy it. Please get my point:

--Rank emotes are not relevant in PVE.
--Rank emotes are not relevant in RA or TA either!
--Rank emotes are only relevant in HA...the only place where you can earn rank! Let's keep them there or implement a new system to negate them in other areas.

I am not advocating to take rank away from the game, like some ppl here have understood. Please read the name of this thread. I am just suggesting that Rank emotes are restricted to HA. People who have rank can still 'mesmerize' the newbies with their deer emote in HA. And then in turn be promptly shamed by someone with an 'uber golden phoenix' emote or whatever the hell that are implementing for rnk15.

I don't want to alienate anyone. Is someone here suggesting that restricting Rank emotes to HA will alienate ppl? How so? Why would you be upset if you couldn't flash your rank in PVE or RA/TA? Rank is irrelevant there anyway.

I am also looking forward to Factions...and a new PVE Rank equivalent and better yet a form or Rank for RA PVP arenas!

To the guys sick of seeing the rank at most, stay out of HA. That is where you see it most and you won't see the same emote 100th time or more.

I'm sorry I have trouble taking this thread seriously, but you are complaining about somehting so unimportant and so unneeded that I just don't see how it was even worth suggesting.

Lets think about this. I'm a pve and pvp player. I've seen in my year of playing GW less than 20 total emotes outside of HA. I cannot believe this is an issue. And since emotes are as another poster said entirely and at this stage only about vanity then it becomes like any other vanity only thing.

This modificaiton to the game you suggest is on the same level as a frivolous lawsuit. it does not address what your problem really is. People are sometimes assholes. No matter what you don't allow them to do they will still be asses. this is not exclusive to pvp players or people with emotes and has nothing to do with the emotes themselves.

being a bit annoyed at seeing an animation seems a bit silly to me

so yes this thread is funny just try to see it fomr the perspective of the majority of people who don't moan and whine over silly things and you'll see why I think its funny.

Just ignore the emote flashing outside HA - I do when forming PvE parties, as from experience those flashing their emotes in PvE areas to impress people tend to be big-headed show-offs and more trouble than they're worth in parties with their great 'I am rank X you noobs so something special' attitude.
